Thiago Silva joins Chelsea after PSG exit

Thiago Silva, who will turn 36 in September, has left Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the 2019/20 season after a successful eight-year spell at the club. The former AC Milan center-back was available on a free transfer after the conclusion of the club's Champions League campaign in August.

 

He has now joined Chelsea on a free transfer. “I am so happy to be joining Chelsea. I am delighted to be a part of Frank Lampard’s exciting squad for next season and I’m here to challenge for honours. See you soon Chelsea fans, I look forward to playing at Stamford Bridge very soon,” he told the club’s official website. The Brazilian has signed a one-year deal with Chelsea after leaving Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer, the club have announced.
