Sterling's goal hands Manchester City victory against Arsenal
Raheem Sterling scored the only goal as Manchester City beat Arsenal by 1-0. This was City's first clean sheet of the season and they are currently 10th in the table. Sergio Aguero made his first start of the season after recovering from injury.
City were close to open the scoring in the first minute itself but Mahrez shot narrowly wide. City took the lead in the 23rd minute. Phil Foden's shot was saved by Bernd Leno but Sterling pounced on the rebound to take City in front. Both teams got chances but none of them found the net. Ederson and Leno made some smart saves to deny the goals.
"They were a difficult team to break down, really well drilled and made it difficult for us. In the end we deserved the win. We kept it tight and compact and deserved the win," Sterling said after the game.
