Merseyside Derby ends in a draw
The Merseyside derby ended in a draw as VAR denied a last minute winner for Liverpool. Henderson found the net in the last minutes of the game but Sadio Mane was given offside in the build up after a VAR check. Richarlison was shown a straight red for a challenge in the 90th minute.
Both teams suffered important injury setbacks in the first half as Virgil van Dijk came off after a nasty challenge by Jordan Pickford while Seamus Coleman pulled a hamstring.
Sadio Mane, who returned after Covid treatment scored the opening goal. Everton equalised in the 19th minute when Keane converted from Lucas Digne's cross. Salah scored his 100th goal for the club and put them ahead in the 72nd minute. Everton made it 2-2 with a fantastic header from Calvert Lewin to finish the match.
