Chennaiyin FC have signed Bosnian center back Enes Sipovic

Chennai

Chennaiyin FC have roped in Bosnia and Herzegovina based stopper Enes Sipovic on a free transfer from Qatar side Umm Salal. This makes him the first player to play ISL from his country.

Sipovic becomes the club’s third signing ahead of the upcoming season, following the arrival of full-backs Reagan Singh and Chhuantea Fanai. Enes has played in multiple teams in multiple leagues and an experienced defender as well. He has played in 218 matches in his career and scored 9 goals as well.

“I was instinctive that India will be my next destination. I am very happy to be part of such a beautiful club. I have been following Chennaiyin since its very first season in 2014 under Marco Materazzi, and I am aware that it is a team that has a tremendous fanbase and is incredibly successful. I am already very excited about the new season. It will be a great experience, I am sure.” Enes said after joining the club.
