Manchester City and Liverpool off to a winning start in Champions League

Premier League clubs Manchester City and Liverpool have winning starts in the new season of Champions league. City came from behind to win 3-1 against Porto while Liverpool had a narrow 1-0 win against Ajax.

 

Porto took the lead against Manchester City in the 14th minute. Luiz Diaz scored from a tight angle to put his club ahead. City were back on level when Aguero scored from a penalty. City took the lead in the second half when Gundogan scored a superb goal from a freekick. Substitutes Ferran Torres and Phil Foden then combined to make it 3-1, with Ferran Torres scoring the goal.

 

Premier League champions Liverpool had a narrow win against Ajax to start the new season of the Champions League. Both teams got several chances in the game, but none of them found the net. A mistake from left back Nicolas Tagliafico cost the match for Ajax. The Argentine scored an own goal in the 35th minute which was the only goal in the match.
